The following is a list of certifications and trainings that we count at IMAS Fresh.
PrimusGFS is a Global Food Safety Initiative (GFSI) benchmarked and fully recognized audit scheme covering both Good Agricultural Practices (GAP) and Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) scopes, as well as Food Safety Management Systems (FSMS). The GFSI recognition of the PrimusGFS scheme helps move the produce industry one step closer to the desired goal of global food safety harmonization. The PrimusGFS scheme covers the scope of the supply chain from pre- and to post- farm gate production and provides an integrated supply chain approach.
At IMAS Fresh we are subject to ongoing audits to ensure the quality and safety of our practices, currently we count with a 99% score on our PrimusGFS audit.
HACCP stands for Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Points. This is a preventative food safety system in which every step in the manufacture, storage and distribution of a food product is scientifically analyzed for microbiological, physical and chemical hazards. Potential hazards are, therefore, identified and appropriate control measures are taken before the problem can occur.
At IMAS Fresh our personnel is continuously trained on applying the HACCP principles and is certified by the International HACCP Alliance.
The Food Safety Preventive Controls Alliance (FSPCA) is a broad-based public private alliance consisting of key industry, academic and government stakeholders whose mission is to support safe food production by developing a nationwide core curriculum, training and outreach programs to assist companies producing human and animal food in complying with the preventive controls regulations that will be part of the Food Safety Modernization Act (FSMA).
At IMAS Fresh our personnel counts with training and certification on FSPCA preventive controls for human food with recognition from the Institute for Food Safety and Health (IFSH), International Food Protection Training Institute (IFPTI) and the Association of Food and Drug Officials (AFDO).
National Organic Program (NOP) is a federal regulatory program that develops and enforces consistent national standards for organically produced agricultural products sold in the United States.
NOP also accredits third-party organizations to certify that farms and businesses meet the national organic standards. These certifiers and USDA work together to enforce the standards, ensuring a level playing field for producers and protecting consumer confidence in the integrity of the USDA Organic Seal.
The United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) Agricultural Marketing Service (AMS) published a final rule to amend the USDA organic regulations to strengthen oversight and enforcement of the production, handling and sale of organic agricultural products. SOE is the largest regulatory change to the organic regulations since the final rule was first published in 2002.
